If things go wrong: to parents

Up until now, the fact that your child was earning college credits for study abroad tells little about who has ultimate authority over his/her program. If several entities are involved (home school, third party program, and SOR), in death’s aftermath, the seams between this world are about to open like fault lines.

Generally, either the home university or the study abroad program will take the lead on communicating with you. This may involve some combination of phone calls, emails, and in-person meetings.

You will likely have no contact with the SOR, except perhaps to receive a refund check.
