Roshni Thackurdeen
Roshni Thackurdeen earned a bachelors degree in human services from SUNY Empire State College. She obtained a Master’s Degree in school counseling from Mercy College. She is a New York State certified school counselor and has worked for the New York City public schools.
Student safety advocate and co-founder of Protect Students Abroad, Ros’ passion and persistence convinced New York Congressman Sean Patrick Maloney to sponsor the first federal study abroad transparency legislation.
Ros has appeared on student safety speaker panels at Stetson University’s Law and Higher Education annual conference. She has been interviewed by NBC, the New York Times, Newsweek Magazine, Times Herald Record, 11Alive-Atlanta, Mid-Hudson News, Times Warner Cable, and Spectrum TV (Empowering Women Everywhere), and others. In 2018, the Association for Safe International Road Travel (ASIRT) named Ros an ASIRT Road Safety Champion.
