PSA advocates for a lens shift within the study abroad industry, to a science-based data-driven understanding of student safety.

Up until now, the pedagogy of study abroad has been informed by some combination of institutional experience and common sense.

Through academic research, the study abroad industry can also be informed by science. In this way, the industry will not only save student lives, it can lead the rest of higher education into the 21st century of evidence-based education.
